Can I join a bocce league? Back
to top
Certainly. You need a minimum of four players and a maximum of
10 players for a team. You can sign up by completing emailing
us.
When are the games? Back
to top
You will be asked a preferred day of play. Most seasons will
have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday slots. Saturday and Sunday
games are from 2 – 4:30 and Monday games are from 8 – 9:30.
When do the leagues happen? Back
to top
We have from 3 to 4 leagues a year. Each league lasts about 2
to 3 months.
How are the leagues structured? Back
to top
Your team will play other teams on your specified day. For example,
if your team plays on Saturdays, then you will only play other
teams that play on Saturday. You will play those teams throughout
the ‘regular season.’ Then, much like NCAA basketball,
the teams are ranked and, for the finals, there is a tournament
bracket. The finals usually take place over one weekend and here,
you will play teams from other days.
Is there a fee to join the league? Back
to top
No. But we do ask that you sign up only if you are serious. If
a team drops out mid-season, it affects everyone’s ranking.
How good are the players? Will I feel
like an idiot if I join and I suck? Back
to top
No. We have many players who suck. There are of course very good
players as well. Most players find that it is very easy to improve
with just a little practice.
Are there prizes? Back
to top
Yes, we try to change the prizes every season. In the past, we’ve
provided individual and team trophies, gift certificates, etc.
What are the rules? Back
to top
The tournament rules are posted on our website and a copy is
also kept behind the bar.
What is the proper bocce attire? Back
to top
Sneakers, knee socks, tight shorts and a wool sweater.
